Roy Ashcroft Memorial Trophy Postponed Until 1pm 12th June

In view of the poor forecast for tomorrow a decision has been taken to postpone the above event until 12 June at 1pm. Just a reminder this is a pairs competition open to all new and prospective members with partners drawn out of a hat. Hope to see you next week.

Winter Ladder – a Delighted Winner!

Last weekend a magnificent day’s bowling saw a delighted John Leadbetter crowned the Winter Ladder winner for 2021/22, beating Steve James 21-13. The top 8 positions played off for the trophy and the quarter finals saw some very close bowling, with the closest being Steve James just pipping Mike Fagan 21-19. Into the semis and there were some further exciting close matches played. Steve again just scraped through 21-19 against Nick Slater and, in the other semi, John Leadbetter beat Alan Bellis 21-17.

The final was a more one side affair, with John steamrollering Steve with an immaculate performance. His superb play and consistency all day made him a worthy winner of the 2021/22 title. Congratulations John, having virtually lived on the green for the past year your title is much deserved.

This year’s Winter Bowling Ladder has been the biggest yet and has seen far more games played than in previous years. It has been a magnificent achievement for the club. The full results can be seen on our Winter Ladder 2021/22 page.
