Rain rain go away, on our grass green we want to play. 😩

Due to the poor weather, and the fact it is likely to continue for most of the day, the taster sessions due to be held today are cancelled. The Club will arrange further sessions in due course so watch this space.

The Winter Ladder Finals will be held on Sunday 15 April, starting at 2pm.  The quarter final (15 up) line up is as follows, so come down and cheer on your favourites and let’s hope for some good weather!!

Quarter Finals

Taster sessions have been arranged for tomorrow (Saturday) at 10.30am and 2pm.  The weather forecast is not looking too good at the moment though.  A message will be posted first thing in the morning if they are off, in which case we will rearrange for a suitable weekend in the future.  Anyone who was interested in attending please get in touch so we can notify you of future dates.

Our junior bowling sessions for anyone aged 7-16 are starting again this Thursday at 6pm. If you know of anyone who might want to give it a try bring them along, the first session is free for new bowlers.

We are holding free taster sessions for anyone that would like a go at bowling this coming Saturday (7th) at 10.30am and 2pm. Just turn up and wear flat soles shoes or trainers, all equipment provided. Suitable for all the family from 7 years up to 107 years old😀. Trained coaches will show you what to do. You can find us off Altys Lane at the back of the Cricket Club.

Any members who can come along and help with either session would be most welcome.

Thankfully, all the problems we have been having with the water connection have now been resolved.  Ian Potter has kindly fixed the pipes and the toilet block is fully usable again and it is possible to have a brew!  Many thanks to Ian for all his hard work on this.

Great progress has been made with treating all our shelters and there is only a little bit left to do.  Next jobs will be varnishing the away hut by the artificial green and painting the seats, and we will have a groundforce day in due course to sort those out.

Steve, Ian, Danny and Fritz made great headway on treating the shelters and pavilion yesterday. Not much left to do and we will try and finish off possibly on Saturday or Sunday weather permitting.

The forecast is good so if anyone could come down to assist with treating our new shelters today (Thursday) from 1.30pm please come down.  If you have an old large paintbrush bring it along and (obviously) wear old clothes! We may do some more over the weekend but that will be weather dependant.

We are looking for a few extra players to play on a Wed evening in our Ormskirk Castle team. This is your chance to play in our historic first season on the grass green. If you are interested (or know if anyone who might be) please get in touch. All abilities, including beginners, welcome. The season starts in 2 weeks.
