The Aughton League fixtures for a Wednesday evening for both the Ormskirk BC and Ormskirk Castle teams are now published on this site.  Fixtures, and all results & stats in due course, can also be found on the League website – http://bowlsnet.uk/aughton.

Congratulations to Don Morris who rapidly rose up the Winter League ladder, reached the top spot before Christmas  and who has yet to be defeated.  This is the player to beat.

Advance notice that our AGM and Presentation Night will be held on the evening of Tuesday 7th February in Ormskirk Cricket Club’s pavilion.  The AGM will start at 7.30pm and an agenda will be emailed to all members in due course.  Please put this date in your diaries.

Well it was certainly cool this morning bowling in the heavy frost!!

Merry Christmas to all our members from the Ormskirk Bowling Club Committee.  We hope you enjoy your bowling over the Christmas break and into the New Year.

Please could all Members all just spare a minute and complete and return the form that has been sent out by email so we know your intentions for the coming season.  We have to start planning our teams now so please return this by 24th December if possible – it just requires a tick in the box.  If you are not sure yet (or have not received it), let Ian Gill know.  This form is for all Members (full/social/winter etc).

As it is the season of goodwill the Committee have decided that all our members (Full/Winter etc) can sign  friends or relatives up now for the rest of the Winter season for just £12.50.  This will mean that they can enjoy bowling with you over the Christmas break and up to the end of March.  They will also be eligible to join the Winter Ladder if they wish.  What better Christmas gift could you give?  Just let us know if you intend to take this up, provide Ian Gill with their name and put a cheque with their name written on the back (made out to Ormskirk BC) in the top drawer of the desk in the pavilion.

These shots were taken just over a week ago when there were still ice crystals on the green. It made no real difference to the game though.

Well done to Don Morris, who has now taken over at the top of the Winter Bowling Ladder, after a close game against Steve James.  Don took the game 21-19, and has now completed a rapid ascent up the table since it first started.  Can he remain there for Christmas?
