Please lock up

Could all members who use the green please ensure that the gate is padlocked behind them when leaving, if you are the last to leave.  The gate has been left open on a couple of occasions, and we just want to ensure that we don’t get any damage.  Many thanks.

Waterloo

Our sponsors, Co-op Funeralcare, are able to give out some free tickets for the final day of the Waterloo Handicap if anyone would like to come long.  It will be held on Wednesday 21st September at the Waterloo Hotel, Blackpool and will be broadcast live on ITV 4.  It lasts from about 10am until approximately 5pm, and you get to see the quarter finals, semis and Final. It was a fantastic day out last year for those that went.  Anyone interested to contact Ian Gill as we need to give names in.  We can organise a car share.

Social bowling today – entry issues

Any members going along for the social bowling this afternoon may find the main gate at the cricket club locked. This is due to the potential threat of gypsies entering the site.  The code for the gate is the same as for our gates and pavilion, but can any members opening it please shut and lock it behind them. Thank you.

Social Bowling

A few members have been asking about organising social bowling sessions during the week.  We will give this a trial on Monday and Tuesday afternoons from 2pm through till about 4pm, starting this coming week.

If people want to just turn up and decide how they best want to play games against each other (ie either pairs or singles) and we will see how it goes.  Kath Bailey volunteered (sort of) to be there on Mondays and organise it, and Barry Gill will be there on a Tuesday to help organise things.  It would be good if people feedback on how this goes after a couple of weeks and it can be reviewed.  The main issue will be the lack of toilet facilities at the moment.  We will also be sorting out a kettle soon so people can brew up, but we also still need a water supply, a fridge that works and milk!

If anyone knows of a fridge that someone is looking to get rid of please contact a committee member.
