The new pavilion has arrived. We decided not to treat it with the timber treatment we had got and await a clear varnish to show the wood off at its best. There is also a picture of our completed smaller pavilion.. Our esteemed Chairman Mr James is shown relaxing on the new verandah.
Our new Pavilion will not now be erected until this afternoon so we are delaying any painting/treating until about 5.30, weather permitting. Please bring an old brush and clothes you don’t mind getting ruined. Timber treatment is in our new store and Ian Gill will be down to open it up and direct proceedings – just hang on for him to arrive.
Our new pavilion arrives tomorrow (Mon) and, subject to weather, it would be good to get it treated as soon as possible. Any volunteers please come down with a suitable brush for 4ish. If it is raining or drizzling we will delay until Tuesday afternoon.
The small pavilion, that will be used by away team players, was put up successfully today. Great turnout to help and it was needed to get the roof on, thanks to all that came. Steve Denning’s practical expertise came in especially useful!
On a cool and wet evening on the Tute green the Ormskirk Millers just went down. Despite 5 winners each we could only manage 168 points to their 177. A strong first 4 saw our Secretary first off the green with a 21-11 win, with good wins also for Mike Fagan and Paul ‘Luuv’ Makin. The final two also finished strongly with Chris ‘the Horse’ Horsfall winning 21-9 and finally the Club Chairman, Steve James, coming away with a fine 21-14 win against Nicky Davies. The full scorecard is set out below and some pictures on our Instagram account.

It is cold and wet so it must mean the season is starting. Our Club’s first ever match is happening tonight, where we play away at Aughton Institute in the Westhead League. Good luck everyone.
The base for the pavilion, which will arrive on Monday, is now in. We will need some volunteers Monday and Tuesday evenings to help treat it. The grass green is shaped and now nearly ready for seeding.
There will be a coaching session in Coronation Park, Ormskirk, this Saturday at 10am. Anyone is welcome to attend to have a go. Coaching sessions will be held on our new green for members as soon as it is ready.
