Good News

The McCarthy & Stone proposal on the Comrades site was given planning approval on the 20th June, subject to the signing of a planning obligation by the developer to provide £136,000 towards a replacement bowling green and associated facilities & admin costs. Money will need to be spent within 5 years or it will default to other open space improvements. The Club’s Committee will now meet with the Council to progress this matter. We are hoping to raise further funds to enable two greens to be built at the same time, one of which would be artificial for year round use.

Good luck with this venture. Hope you succeed in building the two greens and look forward to playing on them. On behalf of the Hesketh Arms B.C. in Churchtown, we would be pleased to support any fundraising efforts that you organise. Please keep us informed.
