Please can you park away from the cricket club tomorrow and towards the bowling green (acknowledging there is less space due to work on the nets). There is a large funeral function at the cricket club.
Thank you.

Congratulations to this month’s winners-your winnings are on the way. The draw was conducted on 19th March by Mike Fagan. To those existing and new members who would like to support the club, details to join and pay £5 a month per ticket are on the 100 Club tab on the club website. Your contributions are/will be greatly appreciated.
The Cricket Club has asked that we are extra vigilant about the main gate onto Altys Lane being shut in the evening. If you are the last to leave please ensure it is closed and locked.
In terms of parking, the Cricket Club are having some extensive work done to the nets and have asked that there be no parking beyond the gates through to the neighbouring playing field for the next week or so. The Club will advise when this changes. Access is needed for lorries and space needed for the storage of materials.
Provisionally depending on weather this will occur on Good Friday 29th March.
We are looking for volunteers to help out next Saturday with filling in the potholes on the path up to the club. We are ordering 2 tonnes of stones and we can also push stones back in which have moved. Please bring shovels and rakes.
Thank you for your help.
Just a reminder that smoking is not permitted on our bowling greens. Please can all members refrain from smoking (normal cigarettes or vapes) on the bowling greens or within our pavilion or shelters. Thank you
Players are desperately needed for our Ormskirk Castle team that plays on a Wednesday evening in the Aughton & District Bowling League. If we don’t get a few more players soon then the team will have to fold which would be a real shame. All fixtures are local (no further than Rainford/Halsall) and there are three other of our teams in the League so plenty of games will be played at our own club!
If you are interested please get in touch as soon as possible with Eric Barklem on 07501 095 335 or at barklem.eric75@gmail.com.

Several members got a lesson on the new mower on Saturday and the green got its first cut. Pictured having a go is Peter Grimes, who has been doing a tremendous amount of work on various bits of equipment and the shelters recently.

As part of our Lottery grant funding the Club has now purchased a ‘Bradshaw Buggy’ wheelchair for use on the greens. Further equipment will be purchased to assist those who have trouble bending or who are unstable.
