Ormskirk Bowling Club

The new shelters have arrived and look really good.

We have just had confirmation that the floodlights have been ordered and should arrive within 4 weeks.  The light columns have also been ordered. We do not currently have an installation date but watch this space.  The image below shows a similar LED floodlight (albeit mounted on a ceiling). This will be a further major step forward for our club on our journey to be the best bowling club in the Universe! 

Thanks to Fritz for laying on a great quiz for those that came along to pay their subs – congratulations to Steve, Nick, Horse and Ken for winning it! If you haven’t yet paid your subs please do so as quickly as possible and fill in the Existing Members Renewal Form (which is very quick and easy) – all details at https://ormskirkbowlingclub.wordpress.com/existing-members-renewal/.  Thank you to all those that have already paid.

All home fixtures for all our teams are now on the calendar on this website.  If you go to the Calendar page and select the ‘agenda’ view that is probably the best way of viewing them.  This will enable you to see when our greens are being used. The closest  fixtures to the present time can be viewed on the column to the right on the website.  Please check official fixtures and with your captain for official start times.

The club now has its own portal on Bowlsnet – check it out on http://bowlsnet.uk/OrmskirkBC. You will be able to access all our teams’ results and tables for the Ormskirk, Aughton and Westhead Leagues and also access the main Bowlsnet pages for each league. All the fixtures are now on for the Ormskirk and Aughton Leagues

More pics from our Groundforce Day

It won’t be long until we start our junior bowling for anyone aged under 16. No experience or equipment necessary so if you know of anyone who might want to give it a try get in touch. Training will be on Thurs evenings (6pm) where we play lots of fun games. There is also the chance to play in our junior team and at a higher level.

A big thanks to all those that turned out today to help dig out and construct the bases for our new shelters and storage container. Altogether we had 15 members come down to help and many hands made light work. This is on top of Winnie and Margaret coming down yesterday to tidy the pavilion. This really was a superb turn out.  A few pictures of the morning’s activity are below. Steve Denning was clerk of works and his technical knowledge was invaluable.
