Carpet arrived

Our carpet and underlay arrived this morning and, similar to a normal household carpet, the fitters have been putting gripper rods around the edge of the green. The underlay will be fitted this week and the carpet at the start of next week

First Junior Match

Our junior team played its first match today, away to the Moorfield Lions from Widnes. It was a cracking match which all came down to the final pairs game which the Widnes pairing won on the last end 21-20. This was enough to earn a draw.image

Progress Update

First the good news. Jim Finney has done a tremendous job of fitting the windows and repairing the side door of the pavilion we moved from the Windmill. The toilet block is in and all the drainage works completed. The water supply just needs connecting.

Unfortunately the arrival of our carpet has been delayed until Monday 25th April and it may take a few days to fit. After which the paths will be tarmacced.

First Home Fixture put back

Due to the fact that our new green won’t be ready for next week our first home fixture will no longer be at home to Aughton Town Green on Tuesday coming.  We are pencilling in the first home game as Wednesday 20th April as potentially the first home fixture (where Ormskirk ‘B’ play MCA Ladies), but this could be subject to change. Not only will the carpet need fitting, but also the path completing so we don’t tread dirt all over it.  If you play for a team keep an eye out from communication from your captain.

The fixture this coming Tuesday will be reversed and will be played at Asmall House.  The Ormskirk ‘A’ fixture on Wednesday next week will be played at the Halton Castle, as they have kindly lent us their green.
