Lancashire will be taking on Cheshire in the home leg at Burscough Cricket & Bowling Club on Sunday 6th July (2pm start). Entry is £1 with a programme. There are quite a few local players in the home squad so go along and cheer them on – it should be a great match played in a good atmosphere. The team is set out below.

This coming Sunday (8th June) the Club is proud to host the Federation of Crown Green Bowls home leg match between Ormskirk West Lancs and Furness. The match will start at 2pm and features two of our own players, Jim Gray and Ian Gill, as well as other top local players.
The Cricket Club bar is being opened from 1.30pm especially for the match so why not come down, get a drink and enjoy some top bowling action in what should be a great atmosphere and support the team. If there are any volunteers to help do a few bar runs for players/spectators please contact Ian Gill.
We now have a new water heater above the sink in the pavilion for washing up, etc. Please only switch it on when in use and switch off after. Thank you to Tony Williams & Steve Denning for your help in installation.
Please note that there will be no access to the bowling green via Altys Lane from Thursday until Tuesday due to the above event. You will therefore have to access via the pathway on St Helens Road or park on Altys Lane or further afield if you can find a space.
You may have seen that our friends at the Cricket Club are holding their annual beer festival on 23rd – 25th May. As there are a few matches on that weekend, the club is short of volunteers to help the event run smoothly, particularly on both Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th.
Given our close relationship with the cricket club, it would be great if a few of us could offer some support. So if you can spare an hour or two to pull a few pints, or be on the gate. Please sign up on the form in the Cricket Club or contact Richard Brook – brooky16@hotmail.com.
