AGM Agenda 2016

Letter to Members AGM 2016

The Bowling Club’s AGM and pre season meeting will be held on Monday 22 February at 7.30pm in the Cricket Club pavilion. An agenda will be sent out soon by email. It is important that all members and prospective members attend if possible to discuss how we take the club forward.

It has been announced that the Ormskirk League is going to go down to two divisions with 12 teams in each division. This follows the withdrawal of Burscough CC. Our club will have a team in the top division following the Windmill BC winning the A Division last year, whose place in the league we will be taking. Pictured is our esteemed Chairman Steve James, with the trophy the team won and his own trophy for topping the divisional averages.

The edgings are now in around the artificial green. Good progress has been made this week.

A site meeting was held today and it could be as little as 5 weeks until works are completed, weather permitting. Progress is coming along really well and the edgings around the artificial green are not far off completion.

Can you help us? We are having a go at ‘crowdfunding’, in other words raising money for our new Club by everyone chipping in a small amount of money.  It would be great if you could donate even a small amount towards our cause (or if you are extremely rich a little bit more!). Club members will benefit by this facility so please contribute something if you can. This is a new club, with our new greens under construction, that desperately needs some form of log cabin clubhouse for shelter. Have a look at the link (https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/ormskirkbc)  that explains more and where you can donate (it is part of the Just Giving site). Thank you if you are able to give something and please share with your friends. Many, many thanks, your help is much appreciated.

Work has now started to lay the edgings around the artificial green, although rain is still slowing progress.

The junior fixtures for 2016 for our team can now be found under the Junior tab on this website.  Full details of all the League fixtures can be found on the League website – http://www.bowlsnet.org.uk/westlancsjunior.

Mallinsons are now back on site.  You can now see the shape of the greens taking place, especially where the artificial one will go.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,700 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 28 trips to carry that many people.
